At least four dead, several injured after “speeding” tourist bus rear-ends trailer truck on SCTEx

(Eagle News) — At least four people were killed while several others were injured after a bus rear-ended a trailer truck on the Subic Clark Tarlac Expressway in Concepcion, Tarlac on Thursday, Jan. 31.

In an interview over radio dzmm, Robin Ignacio, traffic management and safety chief of the North Luzon Expressway-SCTEX, said majority of the at least 48 injured were passengers of the bus, with plate number BEK 523.

According to Ignacio, based on testimonies, the bus, which had come from Naic, Cavite and was on its way to Baguio, was speeding.

There were also reports the driver of the bus was sleepy.

Authorities are still investigating the incident.
