(Eagle News)–At least eight people were killed and several injured after earthquakes struck Batanes early Saturday, July 27.
The authorities have yet to identify the fatalities, who were pinned in their houses.
The most powerful of the quakes was felt at 4:16 a.m.
In an interview over radio dzbb, Gov. Marilou Cayco said the wounded would be brought to Basco.
“Para..malapatan ng paunang lunas dahil hindi po kumpleto ang kagamitan sa ospital nila doon,” she said.
The quakes took place as a metrowide earthquake drill participated in by Metro Manila residents was held.
