6.1-magnitude strikes off Davao Occidental

(Eagle News)–A 6.1-magnitude earthquake struck off Davao Occidental on Sunday, Sept. 29.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 126 km southeast of Jose Abad Santos at 10:02 a.m.

Depth of focus was 14 kilometers.

An Intensity III was reported in Kidapawan City and Davao City.

The following instrumental intensities were reported:

Intensity IV – Kiamba and Alabel, Sarangani; General Santos City; Tupi, South Cotabato
Intensity III – Gingoog City; Kidapawan City
Intensity I – Bislig City; Cagayan de Oro City

No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.
