2 PMA officers relieved following cadet’s death

(Eagle News) — Two Philippine Military officers have been relieved following the death of Cadet 4th Class Darwin Dormitorio.

The names of the officers were not identified, but authorities said they were the senior tactical officer and the tactical officer of Dormitorio.

Authorities are looking at three suspects in Dormitorio’s death.

Dormitorio was found unconscious inside a room in Mayo Hall Annex in Fort del Pilar in Baguio on Wednesday, Sept. 18.

He was rushed to the hospital where he died.

The Philippine National Police has said based on an autopsy on his body, Dormitorio died due to injuries sustained from hazing rites.

The Department of Justice has ordered the National Bureau of Investigation to probe his death, which came even after a strengthened antihazing law following the 2017 death of University of Sto. Tomas law freshman Horacio Castillo III allegedly during Aegis Juris fraternity rites.
