(Eagle News)–Thirteen senators have signed the manifestation expressing support for Senator Tito Sotto as the Senate President.
Senator Manny Pacquiao showed to reporters on Monday, June 3, the manifesto signed by himself; Senator Panfilo Lacson, who authored the resolution; Senators Aquilino Pimentel III, Gregorio Honasan II, Sherwin Gatchalian, Nancy Binay, Sonny Angara, and Joel Villanueva; Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri; and Pro-tempore Ralph Recto, among others.
During the session, Pacquiao said the number of those who signed had increased to 13, the minimum required for Sotto to keep the Senate presidency in July, when the 18th Congress begins.
Lacson drafted the resolution after Senator-elect Imee Marcos said there was a push for Senator Cynthia Villar to become Senate president, while Senator-elect Francis Tolentino reportedly hinted at a change in Senate leadership. Meanne Corvera
