VMMC to open its gates to ease heavy traffic

(Eagle News)– The Inter-Agency Council for Traffic (I-ACT) will open the gates of Veterans Memorial Medical Center (VMMC) in Quezon City to the public as part of the solutions to heavy traffic during the holiday season.

“Ito’y makakaginhawa nang husto sa ating mga kababayan lalo na ‘yung napakabigat na North at Mindanao Avenue,” Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) General Manager Thomas Orbos said.

Once opened, vehicles passing North Avenue may enter the main gate of VMMC and exit at Gate 2 going to Mindanao Avenue.

The gates will be opened from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Vehicle owners would have apply for an access pass before entering VMMC.

The requirements for the access pass include two pieces of 2×2 ID picture, a photocopy of the OR or CR of the vehicle and a payment of P500.

I-ACT has earlier announced that Camp Aguinaldo will be open to vehicles passing EDSA going to the Katipunan area.
