US-Philippine relations remain strong

QUEZON City, Philippines (Eagle News) — Despite the criticisms and strong remarks uttered by President Rodrigo Duterte against the United States under the Obama administration, the relations between the two countries remain strong.

After a 45-minute meeting between President Duterte and US Ambassador Sung Kim in Davao, Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella said that the US ambassador assured the President that the US will continue to support the Philippines, especially in its efforts against terrorism by providing intelligence support and maritime security.
