Typhoon Hanna (international name Soudelor) enters PAR

(Eagle News) — Typhoon Hanna (international name: Soudelor) has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility as of Wednesday morning, August 5, according to PAGASA.

As of 8 a.m. today, Hanna was located at 1420 kilometers east of Calayan, Cagayan with maximum winds of 215 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 250 kilometers per hour.

It is forecast to move west northwest at 20 kph.




Monsoon rains which may trigger flashfloods and landslides will be experienced over Mindanao. Cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms will be experienced over Visayas and the province of Palawan while partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms will prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the southwest will prevail over Mindanao and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. Light to moderate winds blowing from the southwest to west with slight to moderate seas will be experienced over the rest of the country.
