Tropical storm enters PAR, but PAGASA says “Caloy” will have no “direct effect” on PHL

(Eagle News) — A tropical storm has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

In a radio interview, Ariel Rojas, Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said, however, that Tropical Storm “Caloy,” with international name “Jelawat,” that entered PAR around 8 a.m. on Tuesday will not have a direct effect on the Philippines.

He said the storm  will only make a stop in the eastern border of PAR.

“Di natin nakikita na maglalandfall ang bagyo,” Rojas said.

He said as of 9 a.m., the eye of “Caloy” was seen 1025 kilometers east of Surigao.

“Pwedeng makalabas ito ng Thursday o Friday,” Rojas said.
