Trillanes welcomes probe into his parents’ deals with gov’t

“If they find anything anomalous, I will voluntarily walk into any detention facility,” he says

(Eagle News) — Senator Antonio Trillanes on Tuesday, Nov. 26, welcomed the government’s probe into his parents’ transactions with the government, saying he would “voluntarily walk into any detention facility kahit sa Davao” if investigators find anything anomalous.

“I welcome (President Rodrigo) Duterte’s statement on probing supposed transactions of my deceased father (PMA Class ’59 retired in 1988 and died in 1998) and my 84-year-old mother,” he said.

He, however, also attacked the President in the same statement, accusing him of  being behind the smuggling of the P6.4-billion and P11-billion drug shipments in the country recently.

“In the meantime, magpanggap man lang sana s’ya na galit s’ya at ipahanap kunyare ‘yung drug lord na nagpasok ng P6.4 billion at P11 billion shabu shipments,” he said.

On Monday, Nov. 26, President Duterte revealed a probe into the transactions of Trillanes’ mother Estelita and his father with the Philippine Navy was already underway.

The President said the transactions took place even when both Trillanes and his father were in the naval service.
