Three people, including two minors,  are now in police custody after they attempted to sell marijuana from Kalinga to clients in Metro Manila, on Wednesday, June 6, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency said.

The suspects were identified as Arden Kenneth Ledesma and the two minors, alias Gerald and alias Jomar.

A media report said one of the suspects squealed about the operation to someone, which prompted the authorities to set up the buy-bust in Sampaloc, Manila.

Recovered from the suspects were 13 kilograms of suspected marijuana leaves worth P120,000.

PDEA-National Capital Region Director Ismael Fajardo said the marijuana was sourced from Tabuk, and that this was sold by the group with the use of social media.

Also recovered from the suspects were the marked money used for the transaction, and three cellphones which they allegedly use in their operations.

One of the suspects has denied the allegations, saying he was only employed by the other two to pick up something in the area in exchange for P2,000.

Charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act are slated to be filed against Ledesma, while the two minors will be turned over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
