Suspected NPA rebels attack three police detachments in Masbate

(Eagle News)–Suspected members of the New People’s Army attacked three detachments in Masbate early Tuesday, Sept. 25.

In a radio interview, Senior Superintendent Froilan Navarroza, provincial director of the Masbate Police, said the first attack was on the detachment of the 1st Masbate Provincial Mobile Force Company at midnight.

This was followed by an attack on a Community Police Assistance Center half an hour later, and by another on the detachment of 2nd Masbate Provincial Mobile Force Company at 2:30 a.m.

“Ito po ay retaliation sa mga setbacks nila dito noong nakaraan,” the police official said, noting that his men were able to repel the alleged rebels.

He said there were no casualties on the police side.

The number of casualties on the rebels’ side was unclear however.
