Students of South Asian ancestry claims co-championship in US spelling bee

QUEZON City, Philippines – A student from Texas and a student from New York were declared co-champions in the United States National Spelling Bee after a deadlock that lasted 25 rounds in the final round. Both students are of South Asian descent. The tie is the third in the row in the bee, which has been a national institution since 1925. Both students will receive a $40, 000 cash price.
