Stephen Speaks back in PHL to promote shows, expresses admiration for PHL nature and culture

(Eagle News) — Stephen Speaks, the American singer-songwriter who long captured his Filipino fans with his songs “Passenger Seat” and “Out of My League”, is back in Manila to promote his upcoming shows in and out of the metro.

The singer recently held a series of concerts on several places in Western Visayas, where he also became interested in its coral reefs after island-hopping in the area.

“Your seas have some of the most diverse ecosystem in the entire planet.” Ripperger said, when asked why he chose to have a reef-rehabilitation project in the Philippines.

“But obviously here, I’ve become attached to the Philippines and the culture (here).” he added.
Ripperger also said that he “loves(s) the beaches” in the country, and is planning to come back with his family in the future.

When asked about what he loves the most about the country, he said “I love the culture, everyone here seems romantic and sweet–much more than Americans, at least.” (written by Rein Cabalic)
