(Eagle News)–The camp of Maria Lourdes Sereno will file a motion for reconsideration of the Supreme Court decision that nullified her appointment as Chief Justice next week.
This was according to one of her counsels, former Solicitor General Florin Hilbay.
Sereno’s appointment was nullified by a vote of 8-6.
In making the decision, the SC dismissed Sereno’s claims she as an impeachable official could only be removed via impeachment.
The SC said impeachment and quo warranto were distinct proceedings, the former being political in nature and the latter being judicial in nature.
