Senator Aquino: Duterte’s SONA should be about addressing effects of TRAIN law on poor Filipinos

(Eagle News)–For Senator Bam Aquino, President Rodrigo Duterte’s third State of the Nation Address should be about “addressing the plight of poor Filipinos burdened” by the effects of the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion law.

“Sana pag-usapan ang mga solusyon sa pagtaas presyo sa SONA ng pangulo,” he said in a statement on Saturday, July 21.

He also reiterated his position that the excise tax on fuel be suspended para mabigyan ng ginhawa ang mga pamilyang nalulunod sa gastos.”

Duterte has said his speech on Monday would not last more than 35 minutes.
