Senate passes tax amnesty bill on second reading

(Eagle News) — The Senate has approved on second reading a measure that would grant tax amnesty to those who failed to pay internal tax revenues for taxable year 2017 and the years before that.

Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri said the Senate would pass the bill on third reading by Monday next week.

The House of Representatives, meanwhile, passed its version of the bill at the committee level.

“I’m confident that this measure will pass both Houses before the (holiday) break,” he said.
