SEATTLE, Washington, US – (Eagle News) — Hues of pink align the Liberal Arts Quadrangle, also known as the Quad at the University of Washington. The blooming of the Yoshino cherry trees is a pleasant sight to see as they are viewed to coincide with the beginning of spring.

Drawn by the beauty of the blossoms, you may see students’ venturing from a study session from the adjacent library, Suzzallo, heading towards the Quad for some well deserved relaxation…additionally, due to the short window of peak bloom, an increase of visitors to the campus is to be expected for several weeks.

A little trivia about the cherry blossoms – these trees were first planted in the 1930s at Seattle’s Washington Park Arboretum and were then moved a few decades later to the University campus, and the present-day home of the cherry blossoms is the Quad.

Today as you can see these trees are enjoyed by many. With cameras so readily available it’s hard not to take a selfie, snapshot, or frolic under the branches. Cosplayers, bridal shoots, and family portraiture can be seen all around as they seek the perfect location to capture the cherry blossoms at their optimal prime. Due to the heightened interest, and to help the public to keep track of the cherry blossom status at the University of Washington, the cherry blossoms even has its own Twitter account!

Whether you’re a visitor planning the best itinerary for your Seattle tour or you’re a local Washingtonian, remember to mark your calendar for a visit of the picturesque cherry blossoms at the Quad!  (Eagle News Service)
