Sandiganbayan approves Jinggoy Estrada’s plea for Hong Kong vacation

(Eagle News) — The Sandiganbayan has approved former Senator Jinggoy Estrada’s request he be allowed to go on vacation to Hong Kong before he starts campaigning for the 2019 elections.

In allowing Estrada, who is out on bail, to travel from Dec. 26 to 31, the anti-graft court noted the former senator’s right to travel.

It added Estrada’s P1.33 million bail posted in September last year for his temporary freedom sufficed as guarantee he would comply with the conditions set forth by the Sandiganbayan.

Estrada is running for a Senate seat in the 2019 elections.

He is accused of pocketing P183.8 million in kickbacks from his pork barrel funds through alleged pork barrel scam queen Janet Lim Napoles’ fake non-government organizations.
