Sandiganbayan approves Jinggoy Estrada’s bid to travel to Singapore

(Eagle News)—The Sandiganbayan has approved former Senator Jinggoy Estrada’s bid to travel to Singapore.

In allowing Estrada to accompany his mother, former First Lady Loi Ejercito, to the Asian country for a medical checkup from Oct. 1 to 8, the Sandiganbayan, where Estrada faces cases in connection with the pork barrel scam, said it could not impair his right to travel, considering also that the court already allowed him to travel in previous times.

The anti-graft court said the P2.6-million travel bond posted by the former senator last year sufficed as guarantee for his return.

Estrada is facing plunder and graft cases for allegedly pocketing P183.79-million worth of kickbacks through the alleged pork barrel scame scheme mastermind Janet Lim Napoles.
