Robredo lawyer says Marcos camp knew of questioned outing in Laguna

(Eagle News) — The lawyer of Vice President Leni Robredo on Wednesday, July 11, said the camp of former Senator Bongbong Marcos knew of the outing of revisors and Presidential Electoral Tribunal personnel in Laguna on June 22.

In a counter-manifestation to Marcos’ plea the PET investigate the pool party attended by its personnel in charge of the recount and at least one revisor from the Robredo camp, Romulo Macalintal said proof the Marcos camp knew was supposed footage from a closed-circuit television  camera showing Roderick Miranda, a Marcos supervisor,  delivering food to the PET office days before.

The recount that covers three provinces was in connection with Marcos’ electoral protest against Robredo, who was declared the winner in the 2016 vice presidential elections.

“Inasmuch as we empathize with protestant Marcos in losing the Vice-Presidential race, he should be more candid to the Honorable Tribunal,” Macalintal said.

In seeking for the PET inquiry, Marcos had called the outing “improper,” and accused Robredo of “corrupting” the PET personnel.
