Police present alleged drug suspect who claims 17-year-old killed in Caloocan drug op was “drug runner”

(Eagle News) — The seventeen-year-old who was killed in a drug operation in Caloocan last week was a drug pusher, and not an innocent student.

This was according to the man police said was a drug pusher, and who was presented to the media on Sunday.

Renato “Nono” Loveras said he would pay  Kian Loyd delos Santos two to three times every week, in exchange for shabu the 17-year-old himself  handed over to him.

He said the boy sourced the shabu from one Neneng Escopin.

He said apart from Delos Santos, Escopin employed two other minors as his runners in the drug trade.

Delos Santos was killed in onetime bigtime operations all over Caloocan on Wednesday.

The police had said the boy was armed and had fired at them as they approached him.

Zaldy delos Santos, the boy’s father, disputed the police account, making reference to footage from a barangay closed-circuit television camera that supposedly showed the boy being carried by policemen.

Zaldy contended the boy could not have, as such, fired at the police.
