PNP sacks four Makati cops for abuse of authority

(Eagle News) — The four police officers caught laughing on video while searching an undressed woman have been sacked by the Philippine National Police.

Sacked were Senior Insp. Valmark Funelas, PO1 Stephanie Limhap, PO1 Heizelle Maramag, and PO1 Francis Intia, who are also facing administrative charges.

Funelas told Makati police chief Rogelio Simon the woman had been paid P2000 to do the demo on “frisking drug suspects” for new drug operatives in March 2017.

But the woman said officers violated their agreement when they videoed the act, which was reportedly done in the Makati Police’s Drug Enforcement Unit.

The video was given by a former anti-drug operative to a media outlet, which followed up on the story.

“They’re just too much, what they did to me was unfair,” the woman said.
