PNP: Faeldon’s son tests negative for illegal drugs but will still face raps for visiting Naga drug den

(Eagle News)—The son of Bureau of Corrections chief Nicanor Faeldon tested negative for illegal drugs, the police said.

But Senior Supt. Felix Servita Jr., Naga police director, said Nicanor Faeldon Jr. will still be charged for  being a visitor of an identified drug den, as provided for in the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.

This was after a report released by the Crime Laboratory of Camarines Sur showed the sachets seized from the house where the younger Faeldon was found indeed contained illegal drugs, specifically shabu.

Servita said the younger Faeldon’s companions who were also arrested during the Friday raid—Allan Valdez, Russel Lanuzo and Manuel Nebres—tested positive for illegal drug use and will face drug-related charges.

Lanuzo was allegedly the father of the younger Faeldon’s girlfriend, who was also present in the house.

In a radio interview on Saturday, Dec. 15, the BuCor chief reiterated he will not interfere in his son’s case.

“Let him stay there until matapos yung proseso ng investigation,” he said, noting he would not hire a lawyer for his son.

Prior to his appointment as BuCor chief, Faeldon was a deputy administrator at the Office of the Civil Defense.

He was Bureau of Customs chief before that appointment until he resigned over the P6.4-billion shabu shipment controversy.
