(Eagle News) — A municipal councilor of Jolo has been kidnapped by members of the Abu Sayyaf, the military said on Wednesday.
A report said the abduction of a certain Zed Tan was carried out around 6 p.m. on Sept. 17, at the boundary of Barangays Timbangan and Tagbak in Indanan, Sulu.
The military said the abductors, an undetermined number of ASG members, were riding a red vehicle.
After forcibly taking Tan, they proceeded in the direction of the municipality of Talipao.
Authorities are conducting manhunt operations, and have established checkpoints in the Jolo-Talipao-Maimbung area for Tan’s rescue.
