Philippine Coast Guard, on heightened alert starting December 18 due to expected passenger rush for holidays

QUEZON CITY, Philippines (Eagle News) – The Philippine Coast Guard will be on heightened alert starting Monday, December 18, until January 8, 2018, in preparation for the expected rush of passengers to the provinces for the year-end holidays.

All Coast Guard units are advised to be on alert in all ports and to prepare for all maritime incidents.

PCG personnel will be supported by the Department of Transportation, Philippine Ports Authority, Maritime Industry Authority, Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary, the local government units, and the police in the monitoring of local and foreign passengers in all port terminals, beaches, and coastal and island resorts.
