Pernia: Proposed Bulacan International Airport, 7 other proposals get NEDA Board approval

(Eagle News) –The National Economic Development Authority Board  has approved eight infrastructure proposals, including one for the construction, maintenance and operation of a Bulacan International Airport, Socioeconomic Planning Secretary Ernesto Pernia said.

In a statement, Pernia said the board, led by President Rodrigo Duterte, made the approval of the Subic-Clark Railway Project (P50.03 billion); Clark International Airport Expansion Project Operations and Maintenance PPP (P5.61 billion); Ambal-Simuay River and Rio Grande de Mindanao River Flood Control Projects (P39.2 billion); Pasig-Marikina River and Manggahan Floodway Bridges Construction Project (P5.98 billion); Bridge Construction Acceleration Project for Socioeconomic Development (P11.369 billion); Rural Agro-Enterprise Partnership for Inclusive Development and Growth or RAPID Growth (P4.78 billion); and Davao Food Complex Project (P1.086 billion) on Wednesday, April 25.

According to Pernia, also approved was San Miguel Corp.’s proposal for the P735.634-billion construction, operation and maintenance of a Bulacan International Airport on a 2,500-hectare property.

Under the Swiss challenge, other companies can challenge SMC’s bid.

“We are pleased to see more infrastructure projects in the pipeline,” he said.

“As we roll them out, government shall keep working towards developing the country’s infrastructure to ensure easing of congestion in Metro Manila and spreading growth to the regions,” he added.
