Palace denies Trillanes’ claim; says senator was stripped off only of his “excess” security escorts

(Eagle News)–The Palace on Saturday, July 14, denied it had taken away all of Senator Antonio Trillanes IV’s  security escorts.

According to Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, based on information provided by the Philippine National Police, only two security escorts were removed as the senator “already had six when he was only allowed four.”

He said the “excess” security escorts were needed by the public.

“Let’s allow our PNP to keep our communities safe, please,” Roque said.

On Friday, July 13, Trillanes complained all his security escorts would no longer be detailed to him effective end of June.
