An agent (R) of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) escorts suspects during a raid at an informal settlers’ area inside a public cemetery in Manila on March 16, 2017.  Police have earlier disputed claims on numbers of alleged extrajudicial killings in the Philippine drug war, as they stressed that more than one million drug suspects have already surrendered, while more than 4,000 had been arrested.  Both groups will also undergo drug rehabilitation and treatment in the government’s detention centers.  Based on the police records, as of December 31, 2016, a total of 1,007,153 drug personalities have yielded to the authorities since July 1 to date.  Of this figure, 74,916 were pushers and 932,237 were users. / AFP PHOTO / TED ALJIBE
