National Capital Region Police Office Director Chief Supt. Guillermo Eleazar has recognized four rookie policemen for their heroism.

Awarded the Medalya ng Kagalingan were P01 Florjoe Padilla and P01 Richard Abuan of the Kamuning Police Station, who engaged a robber  who resisted arrest in a shootout, and then managed to arrest him.

P01 James Patrict Castillo of the Fairview Police Station was given the Medalya ng Sugatang Magiting after he engaged two  drug suspects in a shootout on May 29 even when injured.

The two suspects were killed.

P01 Jonathan Peralta of the Talipapa Police Station, who sustained a gunshot wound in the back after shooting it out with drug suspects in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Bahay Toro on July 27, also  received the  award.

According to Eleazar, the fact that the four rookie policemen were recognized shows that not all P01s were corrupt.

“Punish the bad and reward the good..Kung paanong mabilis magbigay ng punishment, kailangang mabilis ding magbigay ng award,” he said.
