NCRPO chief sacks six Manila policemen for alleged extortion; commanding officer also sacked

(Eagle News) — The National Capital Region Police Office has ordered the relief of six Manila policemen  for alleged extortion right inside the Manila Police District headquarters, and their commanding officer.

Sacked by NCRPO chief Guillermo Eleazar were P01 Erdie Bautista, PO1 MJ Cerilla, who have both been arrested; and PO3 Dindo Encina, PO3 Michael Chavez, PO1 Arcadio Orbis, and PO1 Martinico Mario, who are still at large.

District Special Operations Unit head Chief Insp. Joey de Ocampo was also sacked by virtue of command responsibility.

According to Eleazar, Bautista, Cerilla, Chavez, Encina, Orbis and Mario attempted to extort P100,000 from human trafficking suspects they arrested on Wednesday night.

The amount, however, was reduced to P50,000

Eleazar said the CITF organized the entrapment operation following a tip from a relative of one of the suspects who who were arrested.
