Navy rescues fisherman who was adrift in West PHL Sea for three days

(Eagle News)–A fisherman who had been adrift in the West Philippine Sea for three days was rescued by the Philippine Navy on Friday, the Western Command of the Armed Forces of the Philippines said.

Albert Carcuevas of Rizal, Palawan was rescued in the vicinity of Dalagang Bukid Shoal, Wescom said in a statement.

Carcuevas was fishing in Rizal when his boat encountered engine trouble, and ended up drifting toward the area.

He told authorities he had not eaten nor drunk those days.

Carcuevas, who is now in stable  condition, was brought to the BRP Sierra Madre.

Wescom said they will “ensure his safe return.”
