NAIA janitor returns envelope containing “significant amount of dollar bills”

(Eagle News) — The Manila International Airport Authority on Wednesday, Jan. 16, hailed one of its employees after he returned an envelope containing a “significant amount of dollar bills” that he found while on duty.

MIAA general manager Ed Monreal lauded airport janitor Jeffrey Almoguerra, 30, and a father of two, for his honesty when he took the envelope he found at the vicinity of a foreign exchange counter in the Ninoy Aquino International Airport to the MIAA’s Lost and Found section instead.

The money, whose amount was not disclosed to ascertain the veracity of statements of possible claimants, has been inventoried.

“I urge all our service contractors to also recognize their employees for their simple achievements and take care of them because they set good examples,” Monreal said.

“We want goodness and honesty to become viral in NAIA,” he added, noting that Almoguerra has been included in the roster of award recipients of MIAA in February.
