NAIA guard hailed for returning Korean national’s wallet containing cash

(Eagle News) — Authorities on Friday, Jan. 18, hailed a Ninoy Aquino International Airport guard for returning a Korean national’s wallet containing cash of different denominations.

According to the Department of Transportation, Reno Erenea found the wallet with cash worth P24,950 and 181,000 KRW and assorted IDs on the road way of the West Departure Curbside at NAIA Terminal 1 on Thursday, Jan. 17.

He turned over the wallet to the Terminal Police Office, and took the time to page the wallet’s owner, Kangho Yoon.

The Korean national, who was on his way to Incheon, South Korea, arrived shortly and thanked Erenea.

Ed Monreal, general manager of Manila International Airport Authority, for his part, urged airport employees to continue promoting the “culture of honesty.”

“Ito ay isang magandang imahe para sa ating paliparan at sa ating bansa,” Monreal said.
