MMDA: Ban on driver-only vehicles during rush hours on Edsa applies to TNVS

(Eagle News)–The  ban on driver-only vehicles on Edsa during rush hours applies to vehicles of transport network companies as well, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority said on Wednesday, Aug 15.

In an interview over Unang Balita, MMDA spokesperson Celine Pialago said this is according to MMDA General Manager Jojo Garcia.

“Tratatuhin ho natin silang private vehicle,” she said.

She said if these vehicles needed to pick up passengers from Edsa, “kindly exit dun sa pinaka-unang kanto ng EDSA.”

“Kung kayo naman ho ay magbababa bawal niyo hong baybayin ‘yung kahabaan ng EDSA,” she said.

Under the scheme, vehicles with only the driver as occupant are prohibited from using EDSA from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. and from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The MMDA started the dryrun of the scheme today.
