(Eagle News) – Newly crowned Miss Universe 2018 Catrional Gray is arriving back in Manila Wednesday afternoon, December 19.

The 24-year old Fil-Australian beauty is now on board a private plane owned by former Ilocos Sur Governor Chavit Singson who had sponsored the Miss Universe 2016 pageant in the Philippines.

Gray thanked all her supporters from the Philippines and credited them for giving her the “endurance” and the spirit throughout the competition.

“I just wanted to say thank you to the Philippines, my country. You know you guys supported me all through this, and if not for you, I would not have had the endurance or the spirit to do what I do,” she said in a video posted in the official twitter page of the Miss Universe pageant.

The video was taken minutes after she was crowned the new Miss Universe.

Gray is the fourth Filipina to win the crown after Pia Wurtzbach in 2015, Margarita Moran in 1973, and Gloria Diaz in 1969.

A grand welcome awaits the new Miss Universe upon arrival in the Philippines.

She will also fly to New York after her stay in the Philippines to fulfill her duties as Miss Universe.
