(Eagle News) — The camp of former Senator Bongbong Marcos has asked the Supreme Court, sitting as the Presidential Electoral Tribunal, to look into an alleged outing of its head revisors and a supposed revisor of Vice President Leni Robredo.
In a a manifestation of grave concern filed on Monday, July 9, the Marcos camp said that because of the June 22 outing attended by Osmundo “Ritchie” Abuyuan in Pansol, Laguna, it is “highly plausible” that Robredo, through Abuyuan, “already infiltrated and curried favor with these PET personnel in order to manipulate, influence and/or control the revision proceedings and maneuver the revision results in her favor.”
The Marcos camp said of the attendees, at least 10 were head revisors hired by the PET to determine the number of votes of each in the ongoing recount in connection with Marcos’ electoral protest against Robredo.
It said the others were the chief tabulator, alternate head revisor, among others.
“Fraternizing with the party revisor for the protestee is obviously prohibited by this Honorable Tribunal since this act is proscribed not only by the Code of Conduct for Court Personnel but also by the Canon of Judicial Ethics,” the Marcos camp said.
The camp also called for sanctions to be imposed on the PET personnel, Robredo, and Abuyuan.
In a statement, Romulo Macalintal, Robredo’s lawyer, said, however, that even Marcos’ revisors were invited to the event.
“In fact, we are wondering why they are even asking for an investigation when they sent food to the said event,” he said.
