Malacañang, AFP consider plans to implement national ID system

QUEZON City, Philippines (Eagle News) — Malacañang and the Armed Forces of the Philippines said that they were pushing for the implementation of a national ID system as part of the amendment to the Human Security Act.

AFP spokesperson Brigadier General Restituto Padilla said during the regular Mindanao Hour briefing in Malacañang, that it would be easier to fight crime and terrorism if everyone had some form of identification document.

It would also prevent the entry of foreign nationals with questionable backgrounds and intentions, especially if they have terrorist  links.
