QUEZON City, Philippines (June 20) – After three years, the Four Horsemen are back in action! They are more than ready to astound the world with their reality-defying magical acts but Daniel Radcliffe stands in their way.
And – to be clear – Daniel Radcliffe is no wizard in this. He is actually the stark opposite!
“Now You See Me 2” boasts of a stellar cast, with the likes of Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo, Dave Franco and Morgan Freeman blessing the silver screen with their presence. They also turned in magnificent performances but several stand-out.
First is the aforementioned Daniel Radcliffe in one of his rare depictions as a villain. A tech-genius afflicted with what seems to be ADHD, Radcliffe’s Walter Mabry is set to disprove and expose the Four Horsemen for what they did to his family.
Replacing a pregnant Isla Fisher, Lizzy Caplan of “Mean Girls” fame joins the gang as the new Horseman. Her deliciously snarky characterization adds a refreshing take to the movie.
But the one who really deserves all the kudos is Woody Harrelson for his spectacular performance. Let’s just say that he has to exert double the effort for this film.
In the film, exactly one year after pulling off their huge caper, the Horsemen were forced to hiding in order to put the law enforcement agencies off their trail. Finally, the call came for them to become active again and their new performance has all of the markings of their previous acts. A crooked businessmen is planning to use his product to violate the privacy of his customers for fun and profit and the Horsemen are there to stop him.
And just as it looks like it is going to be another magical success, things get worse due to the intervention of Radcliffe’s Mabry.
Now, the gang has to pull off their biggest, most astounding act yet in order to bring down Mabry!
By the way, all of these are in the trailer so I’m not spoiling anyone!
