LTFRB approves accreditation of ride-hailing service Hype

(Eagle News) — The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board on Wednesday, April 18, approved the accreditation of another Transportation Network Company in the country.

Hype Transport Systems Inc.’s certificate of accreditation was signed by LTFRB Chair Martin Delgra III and Board Members Ronaldo E. Corpus and Aileen Lizada.

It was attested to by Executive Director Samuel Jardin.

According to the certificate, Hype’s accreditation will be valid for two years after LTFRB approval.

Hype’s accreditation comes following Uber’s official exit from the Philippine market.

This was after the company announced it would sell its Southeast Asia business to Grab.

In return, Uber said it would get a 27.5 percent stake in Singapore-based Grab.
