Light rains expected in parts of PHL as northeast monsoon affects country

(Eagle News)—Light rains are expected in some parts of the Philippines as the northeast monsoon affects the country.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains are expected over the provinces of Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Aurora, Bicol and Northern Samar, while partly cloudy to cloudy skies will prevail over Abra, Benguet, Mt. Province, Ifugao, Kalinga, Apayao , Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Oriental Mindoro, Romblon and Marinduque.

PAGASA said moderate to strong winds coming from  the northeast to the southeast will prevail over Northern Luzon and in Aurora Province, where coastal waters will  be moderate to rough.

According to PAGASA, moderate  to occasionally strong winds blowing from the northeast to east with moderate to occasionally rough seas will be experienced over Bicol Region and Northern Samar.

Light to moderate winds coming from the northeast to east, on the other hand, will prevail  over Oriental Mindoro, Romblon and Marinduque, where slight to moderate seas are expected.
