Lacson: Names of schools allegedly tapped by Communists for Red October plot should not have been disclosed

(Eagle News) — Senator Panfilo Lacson believes the military should not have revealed the names of the schools that are allegedly being tapped by Communists for the Red October plot.

“Intel reports are supposed to be for the consumption of the intel operatives..,” he said.

According to Lacson, this was for the operatives “to pursue and follow up and eventually transform the same into actionable intelligence for the operatives to execute with the sole objective of reaching the logical conclusion of their efforts..”

“Yes, announcing targets of intelligence efforts effectively renders the mission accomplishment extremely difficult if not impossible,” Lacson said.

He said no institution would also “admit such lapses in supervising their students especially if the issue involves destabilization and similar national security matters.”

“It is common sense,” he said.
