QUEZON City, Philippines (Eagle News) — The Philippines will experience the effects of the La Niña phenomenon until April or May. This means there will be more than the usual amount of rain as well as a slightly hotter climate in the country.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said that the northeasterly wind or “amihan” would end by March and that the easterly winds will be felt simultaneous to a dry season from March to May.
The La Niña phenomenon is a coupled ocean-atmosphere phenomenon that is the counterpart of El Niño as part of the broader El Niño–Southern Oscillation climate pattern.
