MIAMI, Florida (Reuters) — Male koala “Milo” made his public debut at the Miami Zoo on Tuesday (May 31) and could be seen jumping between branches inside his enclosure.

Milo, a five-year-old koala, was brought to the Miami Zoo from the San Diego Zoo earlier this month. Zoo staff have spent the past few weeks helping Milo acclimate to his new home.

Zoo officials say they’d like to eventually bring in a female koala to mate with Milo.

Koalas, who are often inaccurately called “koala bears”, are actually marsupials native to Australia.
