UPDATED2: Suspects in killing of General Tinio, Nueva Ecija Mayor Bote arrested

(Eagle News)–Two suspects in the killing of General Tinio, Nueva Ecija Mayor Ferdinand Bote have been arrested.

The police said Florencio Suarez, 48, and Robert Gumacay, 35, were arrested around 9:30 a.m.  after a vehicle they were on was flagged down in a checkpoint  in Barangay Cabasag, Del Gallego, Camarines Sur on Wednesday, July 11.

Police earlier said Gumacay  was not a suspect nor a person of interest.

A police report said a a caliber .45 pistol was recovered from the two by police, who saw it in plain view on the left side of the vehicle’s driver’s seat.

The suspects are now under police custody.

Bote was ambushed after he left the National Irrigation Administration in Cabanatuan City last week.
