(Eagle News)—A Bulacan court has found retired Army Major General Jovito Palparan and two others guilty of kidnapping and serious illegal detention.
Apart from Palparan, Judge Alexander Tamayo of Malolos Regional Trial Court Branch 15 sentenced Lt. Col. Felipe Anotado and Staff Sgt. Edgardo Osorio to reclusion perpetua over the disappearance of University of the Philippines students Sherlyn Cadapan and Karen Empeño, a radio report said.
A third co-accused, Rizal Hilario, is at large.
The three were also ordered to pay P100,000 to the victims’ families.
