Jinggoy Estrada seeks Sandiganbayan approval for Singapore trip

(Eagle News)–Former Senator Jinggoy Estrada has asked the Sandiganbayan he be allowed to accompany his mother to Singapore, where she will undergo a medical exam.

Estrada said former First Lady Loi Ejercito was scheduled to be at the Singapore Brain-Spine Nerves Center at Mount Elizabeth Hospital to meet a neurosurgeon named Dr. Pillay.

Based on a certification from the family physician, Dr. Regina Bagsic, Ejercito was suffering from “severe compression deformity of the lumbar spine with vertebral body collapse.”

Ejercito said the trip would be from Oct. 1 to 8.

Ejercito is out on bail, after the Sandiganbayan allowed him to post bail in 2017.

He is accused of plunder and 11 counts of graft for allegedly pocketing P183.79-million worth of kickbacks through the so-called pork barrel scam.
