INC to make 4 Guinness world attempts in big outreach mission in Tondo today

(Eagle News) — The Iglesia Ni Cristo will be holding one of its biggest outreach and relief operations in Tondo, Manila today, Friday,  April 29, where four Guinness world record attempts would be made.

In this “Aid to Humanity” or Lingap-Pamamahayag activity, the INC will be giving out used clothes, shoes, and also hold a big medical and dental check-up for the Tondo residents and those coming from different parts of Metro Manila.

The activity will be held in multiple sites in Tondo namely at the Tondo Sports Complex, at the Isabelo delos Reyes Elementary School and along Morga and Chacon streets

The activities are expected to last the whole day.

The medical and dental check-up will start in the morning, at about 8 a.m.at the Isabelo Delos Reyes Elementary school in Tondo. This will also include an ultrasound and medical risk assessment.

The distribution of clothes will also start in the morning, and will happen along Morga and Chacon streets.

The distribution of shoes will be done inside the Tondo Sports Complex.

All these activities are in line with the INC’s programs to fight poverty and to help those in need.  These are done in cooperation with the Felix Y. Manalo Foundation.

The four Guinness world record attempts on Friday would be for the largest collection of clothes for recycle/donation,  the most shoes donated to charity in 24 hours, the most medical ultrasound examinations in eight hours, and the most medical risk assessment in eight hours.

It was in Tondo Manila that the INC first broke three Guinness world records in a similar “Aid for Humanity” or “Lingap sa Mamamayan” event on July 7, 2012.  INC then set new world records for largest dental health check, the biggest number of blood pressure (BP) readings taken in eight hours and for the most numerous blood glucose level (BGL) tests, also conducted in eight hours.

The INC has since gained 11 more Guinness world records:  two for the historic World Wide Walk for Yolanda victims on February 15, 2014 — the largest charity walk done within 24 hours in multiple venues, and the largest charity walk in a single venue (Manila); another for  “the most number of hunger relief packages distributed in eight hours in a single venue” in Palayan City, Nueva Ecija; the largest mixed use indoor theater for the 55,000-seater Philippine Arena and the “largest gospel choir during a worship service” which was also held inside the Philippine Arena; three more Guinness records for the movie “Felix Manalo,” and three more Guinness records for the New Year’s celebration at the Philippine Arena.

This makes for a total of 14 Guinness world records.

If the INC becomes successful today in its four more Guinness world attempts, it would have 18 Guinness world records in all.
