(Eagle News) – Around 3,000 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in Taiwan were shown care and given “goodwill bags” in a recent “Lingap sa mga Overseas Filipino Workers” event of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ).

The event was held at the Huanan Commercial Bank International Commercial Hall in Songren Road, Taipei City on Nov. 18.

Those who came said the INC event somehow helped them ease their longing for their friends and relatives back home in the Philippines. There was an entertainment program prepared for the OFWS.

They were also given goodwill bags containing food and other items during the event.

“Kahit paano po nakakapawi ng kalungkutan po at worries sa amin,” said one OFW who was interviewed.

Others said that the program and being with other Filipinos during the event also relieved their feeling of homesickness for their family and friends.

Among those who came were Filipino workers who witnessed such a program for the first time.

The INC program, “Lingap sa mga Overseas Workers,” is in line with the efforts of the INC’s Executive Minister Brother Eduardo V. Manalo to reach out to overseas Filipinos and address their concerns.   (Eagle News Service)
