(Eagle News) — The Iglesia Ni Cristo has filed libel charges against another expelled minister before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office after he accused the Church and its Council members or Sanggunian for being involved in corruption and alleged abduction of other INC ministers.

Charged with two counts of libel was Eliodoro “Joy” Yuson Jr.

Attorney Serafin Cuevas Jr., lawyer for the INC, filed the two separate cases of libel against Yuson.

Cuevas said Yuson, a former INC minister who has long been expelled by Church, has made malicious attacks against the INC and members of its Sanggunian using lies meant to discredit, disparage and sow disunity in the Church which is known to strictly follow biblical teachings on unity or oneness.

Cuevas said there is an orchestrated attempt to damage the Church which recently celebrated its 101st anniversary.

“Hindi lang sila walang matibay na ebidensya, kundi walang ebidensya talaga,” he said.  “Meron ding mga atakeng personal.”

Iglesia Ni Cristo ministers, who were earlier reported by media to be missing, have come out in the open to belie claims of expelled INC ministers and other critics that they were abducted and tortured.

INC ministers Bro. Nolan Olarte, Jojo Nemis, Arnel Tumanan, and Lowell Menorca II came out in televised interviews on Net 25 saying that they are safe and well

They also stressed that they remain active INC ministers in the Church.
